A Tribute to the Makers

At the heart of our chocolate is more than cacao—it’s craft. And craft, to us, is art.

We believe great chocolate and great art come from the same place: an obsession with detail, a reverence for raw materials, and a desire to make people feel something. That’s why we see what we do not just as food production, but as a form of expression. Every bar we mold, every flavor we build, carries intention. Just like a painter with a brush or a sculptor with clay, we work with cacao to tell a story.

We also know we’re not alone in this. That same spirit of creation drives artists of all kinds. So we celebrate them—those who shape beauty out of effort, who pour emotion into form, who help us see the world differently. Whether through design, music, writing, or performance, artists remind us of the importance of feeling, of thinking, of slowing down to truly observe.

Whenever we can, we collaborate with artists, feature their work, and support their craft. Because they inspire us. And because we believe that great chocolate deserves to be in conversation with great art.

This is more than appreciation. It’s a shared philosophy: that making something meaningful is always worth it—even if it’s not the easiest path.

Let us introduce our artists:

Michelle Perez is an illustrator based in Providence, RI.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Michelle has gone on to work in editorial illustration, graphic design, and public art. She sees her work as an extension of the curiosity she holds for the world around her.

She has brought us 6 pieces, 3 independent, and 3 dependent.
If you notice in our Filipino line up of dark chocolate, 64%, 72%, 81%, these chocolate bars line up next to one another. As the chocolate gets darker so does the day. Michelle’s other work includes the Massachussets Special and Salty Rhody. We hope to see more of her work on our products!
